The Story of Susan and Seth
Susan and Seth are a young, married Jewish couple with special needs. Both were working and self-sufficient and thrilled to learn that Susan was pregnant. However, with the economic downturn, Seth lost his job and Susan’s work hours were cut. Their baby, Hannah, was born four weeks premature and a concerned social worker alerted child protective services that the parents might not be able to care for the baby. The couple reached out to JFS. We were able to bring in additional home child care assistance and help the couple secure stable employment. Now, one-year-old Hannah is thriving and living with her parents.
